Student Community Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Programme

The University of Makeni invites university students, young people from host communities, women, aspiring entrepreneurs, and local small business owners to participate in the Student Community Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Programme, taking place on 12–14 April 2026 at Fatima Campus, University of Makeni.

The programme aims to equip young people and community members with practical skills, business knowledge, and entrepreneurial competencies to encourage self-reliance, promote job creation, and support sustainable livelihoods.

Participants will have the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial potential, acquire practical skills, and explore new opportunities for personal, professional, and business growth.

Key areas of the programme include:

• Entrepreneurship Training: Business planning and management, marketing, customer care, access to finance, and digital tools.
• Skills Development: Vocational and technical skills, ICT and digital literacy, and practical hands-on training.
• Youth and Women Empowerment: Mentorship, coaching, networking, and support for start-ups and small businesses.
• Sustainable Livelihoods: Job creation, income generation, and community economic growth.

Through training, mentorship, and hands-on experience, the initiative seeks to empower participants to turn their ideas into opportunities, strengthen local businesses, and contribute to the economic development of their communities.
