Fourah Bay College Education Support and Literacy Enhancement Programme (FBC-ESLEP)
How can we help children build strong literacy and numeracy skills and develop a lifelong love of learning?
Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, invites schools, teachers, parents, and community members to engage in the Education Support and Literacy Enhancement Programme (FBC-ESLEP), an initiative aimed at strengthening educational opportunities through university–school–community collaboration.
The programme focuses on improving reading, writing, communication, and numeracy skills through reading clubs, storytelling, peer tutoring, and after-school learning support. University students will work alongside teachers, applying their knowledge in real educational settings while helping young learners develop confidence and achieve their academic potential.
Together, we can strengthen school–university partnerships, support teachers and learners, and build a stronger culture of reading and lifelong learning in our communities.
