From 11–15 May 2026, ENHANCE-GSL partners participated in a Training of Trainers (ToT) in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, hosted by Matej Bel University.
The training aimed to prepare participants to independently design, facilitate and evaluate training programmes on Community Engagement (CE) and Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) in higher education, while developing the pedagogical and facilitation competencies needed to train others.
Participants from the University of Georgia, Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, University of Makeni and University of Sierra Leone took part in training sessions, micro-teaching activities, discussions with trainers, and visits to local community organisations and educational centres.
The training was delivered by trainers from Matej Bel University and the University of Rijeka and provided opportunities for professional learning, knowledge exchange, networking and cultural exchange.
